Nu-Crawl encapsulation is the only truly sealed system. This is because the liners used are custom made, and joined together onsite using the same sprayed ploymer system. These polymers are the same used for sprayed truck bed liners and are nearly puncture proof, and will not dry out or crack over time. The seamless liners will last the lifetime of the house without any maintenance or concerns. Nu-Crawl floor liners become one entire monolithic barrier, sealed perfectly to itself and the walls, or anything that penetrates the ground such as pipes and footings.
The Nu-Crawl System also uses a hybrid insulation system, combining a reflective insulator/vapor barrier on the walls, and sprayed closed cell foam insulation in the sill boxes above the foundation. Insulation sprayed above the foundation stops outside cold, or humidity depending on the season. All outside air vents are completely sealed and insulated, leaving the inside of the crawlspace to become the same temperature and humidity as the rest of the living spaces above.
Southern climates have different demands, and Nu-Crawl can be sealed directly to the foundation and footings, creating a termite proof lining system. Insulating the top perimeter above the termite guards is critical to stopping high humidity and permits efficient dehumidifying of the space afterwards.
