SmartSeal Viper CS

Our best plastic and taped seams encapsulation system includes insulation

Made Smart

Viper CS is manufactured with premium quality virgin resin containing no recycled content. The resin is then converted to strands of polyethylene and woven together in a tight hatch pattern. The cross-woven membrane is finished by coating both sides with proprietary extrusion layers.  Unlike products containing reground/recycled plastic, Viper CS  resists punctures and tears during install and will not break down over time

Made Tough

The engineered composition of Viper CS gives it superior tear strength, puncture resistance and water vapor permeance when compared to traditional materials. High marks on critical performance specifications make Viper CS well-suited for demanding environments both during and after install.

Made for Crawl Spaces

Viper CS comes in a bright white color giving the crawl space a fresh, clean look while combating the harmful effects of radon, moisture, mold and mildew.  Installing Viper CS properly is critical for the longevity of high performance encapsulation projects.

Sealed and Insulated with Closed Cell Foam

A permanently sealed crawl space has tremendous benefits over the traditional dirt area vented to the outside. The SmartSeal Viper CS has a critical component that sets it apart from any other of our competitors. The use of closed cell spray foam insulation and Refletix vapor barrier and vapor barrier. Sprayed foam insulation provides incredible protection from the outside elements because it bonds and seals the sill plate and joist ends just above the concrete foundation.  This is where air can easily infiltrate into the controlled airspace of the crawl, allowing non-conditioned outside air to reduce the insulation effectiveness.

SmartSeal CS spray foam is also used to join the vapor Viper CS vapor barrier to the concrete wall, rather than trying to use nails or pins.  It creates a monolithic seal that moisture proofs and bonds to both the foundation and the vapor barrier. Not only will the SmartSeal insulation make your first floors warmer, but also in many cases we have reduced the energy bills for heating by 20% or more! With results like this, the job can be paid for in just a few years from these savings alone!

Now that your crawl space is clean and dry, you can think of it as an inviting and useful “mini basement.”

The Unimproved Crawl Space

Controlling moisture, mold, mildew and rodents in your crawl space is the first step to a healthier home environment. An unimproved crawl space is a perfect place for unwanted pests and it can foster potential health problems associated with wet conditions found in a typical crawl space.  Mold growth on floor joists and subfloors, along with warped and cupped hardwood floors above, is a direct result of an unconditioned, unsealed crawl space.

Only a professionally designed and proven crawlspace liner above an efficient drainage system, combined with air sealing insulation will suffice. In short, you need a solution that prevents moisture from migrating from the soil and walls to the crawl space environment.

An unimproved crawl space also wastes energy. If your foundation walls are ventilated and without insulation, cold air chills the floor in the winter and then warm summer humidity makes your air conditioner work harder to cool your home. To solve this problem, you need to stop the outside air from infiltrating your crawl space and let this area assume environmental and humidity characteristics of your living space!

Turning your crawl space into a dry space will eliminate nasty odors, mold, and poor air quality while reducing energy expenses.

Our Spray Foam and Reflectix Hybrid Insulation:

Applied to the top perimeter foundation walls, our spray foam insulation will increase your home’s energy efficiency. Our spray foam insulation completely blocks all outside air infiltration from reaching your crawl space, including permanently sealing off outside air vents. The walls are also insulated using a reflective insulation called Refelctix, which reflects 96% of radiant energy.    Now the insulation factor of your crawl space has increased dramatically, lowering your energy bills year round.

Now that your crawl space is clean and dry, you can think of it as an inviting and useful “mini basement.”
