What is the Nu-Crawl System?

A system specifically engineered for your crawlspace encapsulation project that doesn’t just use a plastic liner and rolls and rolls of tape.

You wouldn’t use a plastic tarp and tape as a permanent solution to a leaky roof and you shouldn’t use it in your crawl space and expect it to last. Equally, concrete is great for a driveway but in a crawlspace it will crack and let in moisture, so if the goal is a dry conditioned space concrete is not the right material.

Waterproofing Companies cut corners. The Nu-Crawl design team with decades of experience in crawl space encapsulation, construction and insulation knew there was a better way.

How it Works:

1.

Reflective insulation/vapor barrier on foundation, with 2″ sprayed closed cell insulation sprayed into sill boxes and sealing top of reflective insulation.

2.

Ground covered with foam board insulation underlay for comfort and insulation (Optional).

3.

40-60ml custom Nu-Crawl sprayed liner fitted onto ground, overlapping and along perimeter base and above footings.

4.

Sprayed seams and joins for a perfect seal and permanent reliability.

Issues & Concern of Use NU-CRAWL Plastic & Tape Concrete NU CRAWL Distinction
Custom Made to Fit • Nu-Crawl is sprayed to fit onsite, making it seamless
• Plastic and tape is piecemeal
• Concrete is flowable and self-leveling on flat surfaces
Safe And Dry Storage • Nu-Crawl is 100% approved vapor barrier
• Plastic and tape tears, leaks, and is temporary
• Concrete is porous, allowing that results in mold
Durability • Nu-Crawl gives you a 100 year warranty
• Plastic and tape punctures, tears and leaks from day one
• Concrete is very durable
Easy to Maintain • Nu-Crawl never needs maintenance
• Plastic and tape detaches and shifts
• Concrete will crack and spall
Permanently Bonded at
Contact Points
• Nu-Crawl is sprayed onto columns, concrete footings, and pipes
• Tape adhesives dry and also soften if wet
• Concrete shrinks apart from edges after curing
Extremely Humid when Drying N/A N/A • Nu-Crawl is cured in 15 seconds and ready for use immediately
• Plastic and tape are pre-made and ready to install
• Concrete heats up and emits mositure when curing. This can go on for weeks after installation
Surface Needs To Be Graded Level • Nu-Crawl can be applied over any surface, even vertically
• Plastic and tape will fail to gravity if applied over slopes
• Without leveling, concrete depth can vary from too thin to too deep
Ground Needs to be Compacted • Nu-Crawl is flexible and soil compaction has no effect
• Plastic and tape comes apart with large movement
• Once concrete cures, the ground can drop, leaving the concrete to crack and shift
Code Required 4" Stone Base • Nu-Crawl can be applied over any surface
• Direct contact with tape may cause failure. Stone may help
• Residential codes stipulate concrete have a gravel layer for groundwater effects
Seamless and Complete • Nu-Crawl can join perfectly under any circumstance
• Plastic and tape is inherently weak and won't adhere to slick surfaces. Tape also leaves air gaps.
• Concrete is porous, and does nothing to encapsulate.
The vapor barrier below concrete is weak and will shift.
